Principal's Message

Greetings Sunnydale Families!

I am privileged and excited to introduce myself and inform you that I will continue to serve Sunnydale, as Principal, for the upcoming school year! I have been at Sunnydale for the past three years as assistant principal and am honored to be able to continue to serve the students, families, community and staff, in this new role, as we begin the 2025-2026 school year.

Here at Sunnydale, we strive for excellence in academics, social-emotional learning, safety and physical well-being for each and every student. We have a wide range of staff and resources to support our students so we can ensure their growth and success.

Sunnydale has two school counselors and behavior support staff building positive relationships with our students and between peers. We meet students where they are at and build the skills necessary for their development. We also have a community liaison and family ambassador to support our families with resources and anything else that you may need for your student’s well-being.

Academically, we support our students with great first instruction by our amazing teachers! All of which are California State Standards based and promote collaboration and accountability. New this year is standards-based report cards. This looks at the skills needed by each student, according to their grade level, then grades them on what students know and can do. We are very excited about the introduction of this new way to interpret student learning.

Sunnydale also offers a variety of school based clubs to enrich and support students’ interest outside of the classroom. In the past, these have included art club, basketball fundamentals, volleyball, ballroom dancing, cooking, pep squad, knowledge bowls and more!

Please know that I am committed to supporting you and your families in any way I can! I will work to ensure that our students, families and staff excel in a positive and productive environment that nurtures academic and social-emotional success.

I am looking forward to another great year here at Sunnydale!
Sunnydale is where Skyhawks take flight!

Respectfully,

Jenny Murawski, M.Ed.
